A Recipe for Wellness: Nutrition Month at ISNHS

Image
Ilocos Sur national High School, celebrate the Nutrition Month with vibrant energy. With this year's theme "Food and Nutrition Security, Maging Priority! Sapat na pagkain Karapatan Natin!" this remind us that eating healthy foods is not just a choice, its our responsibility. A big thanks to the dedication and effort of TLE club that made the celebration become more enjoyable and exciting. Nutrition Month is not just an event, it's a movement. It opens our eyes to show the importance of making smart food choices and ensuring everyone has access to nutritious meals       The TLE club organized a lot of events that really highlights this year's theme. One of that is the fruits and vegetables salad making contest, which I had the chance to join. Our group made a refreshing and unique salad that combined the slight bitterness of ampalaya at the natural sweetness of honey. It is a perfect balance of flavor and health. working together with my groupmates, maki...

The Toughest Quarter Yet

Image
This 1st quarter was one I never expected, and it felt completely different from previous grades. It was a new environment with new dynamics. Although I've known my classmates since Grade 7, being with them didn't feel like home. This quarter was full of challenges, but also full of lessons that have shaped who I am today.      The world hasn't been easy on me recently. I learned that it doesn't always play fair; it gives you challenges to make you a better person. When people around you are unfair, you must remain fair yourself. When you don't know what to do, you just have to do your best and trust that things will work out. This quarter was the most tiring of my school days, but also the most memorable because of the challenges I faced. Without these past two months of my life, I wouldn't be the person I am today—strong and resilient in the face of adversity.      The classroom never felt like a safe space for me, which was st...

Our Hopes After the 2025 SONA

Image
Dear Mr. President,           From watching you State of the Nation Address 2025, I was compelled to write, not as a critic but a polite concerned citizen of this country and a voice for many Filipinos. In your speech you outlined a vision for a " Bagong Pilipinas" and highlighted the progress of your administration has made. We heard about new infrastructure projects, expansion of social services and a lot of projects that will help to grow our economy. It is good to hear the government's plans to help improve our country, especially when it comes to things like agriculture and health care.               We dream of the future you mentioned, not expensive rice and more affordable health services.  Many Filipinos continue to suffer from high prices on basic items. We also need to provide more support for our farmers and fishermen, whose implementation is important for our food supply.People can feel these kind...

Broken Bones

Image
If someone ask me,  "What's something that best describes you?"   I don't think I'd have just one answer. there are million versions of myself depending on who I'm with. I can be loud and talkative. But with others, I'm quiet  distant, or even a little arrogant. I'm just a 15 year old girl still figuring herself out, and I've changed a lot over the years. I used to be that one classmate who had many friends, always in the middle of the crowd. But now , I find comfort in a smaller circle just three people, and one i trust deeply. but that doesn't make me less. it just makes me real  One thing that hasn't changed is my need for   VALIDATION .  I want to be the best. I want to be perfect . My life revolves around my studies. I work so hard but it always feels like it's  not been enough . There's always someone better, someone who achieves things effortlessly while i struggle silently. it breaks me sometimes. But as much as  fall apart...
